Who in there right mind would take over a New York train?!
Well no one but Bernard Ryder, played by John Travolta.
Opens with 4 armed men, being led by Bernard Ryder, Ryder for short, board the New york City subway 6 train departed from Pelham Bay Park Station at 1:23pm, they soon take over!
Meanwhile, MTA dispatcher Walter Garber, played by Denzel Washington, is assigned to Rail Control Center, due to an ongoing investigation, you'll find out why later... if you watch the movie!
The group of men uncouple the front car from the rest of the train and hold the passengers hostage. Bashkim, played by Victor Gojcaj, kills an undercover cop while they are taking over. Ryder & Ramos, a former MTA train operator settle in the front and leaves the rest of his team to watch the hostages. A demand of $10 million in ransom is made and needs to be paid in 60 minutes, 1 hour! Every minute pass the 60 minutes a passenger will be killed.
Garber & Ryder exchange conversations throughout the wait, FBI(of course) try & think of a plan. Ryder is watching the stock market while talking to Garber, Watch to see why!
One of the passengers has his laptop & was chatting with his girlfriend before they took over the train. The webcam is still playing while she's sitting there watching. His girlfriend is a butt, lol! Before his laptop dies she sends a live feed to the police, only thing she did right lol!
John Travolta was really good in this movie, he seems to be a very good villain! Denzel wasn't bad either! Travolta has a phrase he uses a lot in this movie, like every other word that came out of his mouth was “Mother Fucker” Couldn't help but laugh, giggle, every time. One of my fave phases from him was “Garber, your my mother fuckin hero.” If you like Drama & Thriller-Suspense movies than maybe you'll like this one. Now I see how the movie got it's name!!
Looks like the DVD will be out November 3rd, 2009
